Description

Use your creativity to make traditional wagashi (Japanese sweets). Use high-quality ingredients and knead colorful nerikiri-dough to create these delicate delights. Create 2 designs such as a cute flower and a simple round shape.

Cancellation Policy

  • Any cancellations made between 11 business days (17:00 local time) to 3 business days (17:00 local time) prior to the activity will be subject to a charge of 30% of the total amount.
  • Any cancellations made between 3 business days (17:00 local time) to 2 business days (17:00 local time) prior to the activity will be subject to a charge of 40% of the total amount.
  • Any cancellations made between 2 business days (17:00 local time) to 1 business days (17:00 local time) prior to the activity will be subject to a charge of 50% of the total amount.
  • Any cancellations made after 17:00 local time, 1 business days prior to the activity will be subject to a charge of 100% of the total amount.

    1-minute walk from No.1 exit of Gojo Station by Subway.
    10-minute walk from No.3 exit of Keihan Kyomizu Gojo Station.
    Please give yourself enough time to arrive at the location.
    The class will start on time and will not wait or extend the class for late participants.
    Your reservation will be canceled if you are more than 10 minutes late and do not contact the operating company (phone number on your voucher.)

Restrictions

  • Children 7 and under or anyone who needs additional assistance can get a helper for an additional JPY 500.
  • Please give yourself enough time to arrive at the location. The class will start on time and will not wait or extend the class for late participants. Your reservation will be canceled if you are more than 10 minutes late and do not contact the operating company (phone number on your voucher.)
  • Observers not taking part in the activity must pay JPY 300 admission fee. Please note that a waiting room is not available.
  • Infants ages 0-2 may take part for free but will not get their own seat or nerikiri dough. They will be asked to sit on the lap of a participating adult.

Additional Notes

  • Participants who would like a neriki-dough case may purchase one for JPY 100 on site.
  • Please inquire through VELTRA customer service in case you would want to join in this activity between 9:30 to 20:30, available every 30 minutes.
  • The design of the nerikiri-dough may vary depending on the season.
  • Outside food and drinks are not permitted in the facility.
  • In the case the activity gets cancelled, refunds will not be issued for transportation, accommodation and other personal expenses.

Introduction to Wagashi
Learn the difference between wagashi sweets as your instructor gives you a short introduction to this traditional Japanese dessert. Take this time to ask questions and know more about making this beautifully colorful and tasty delight.

Flower Shape
Get ready to work with your hands. Portion your nerikiri-dough then fill them with red bean paste. Roll the filled dough gently between your hands to make a round shape. Finally, use a wood tool and press the sides to create a flower shape.

Shredded Round Shape
Grate your dough then use a toothpick to scrape the grated outer skin and wrap it around the red bean paste. After, put a smaller piece of round dough on top for the finishing touch\.

Picture-Taking
Take pictures of your finished products and show your appreciation to the instructor. Then, end the tour by taking a commemorative group picture.
